on friday i went shopping for something to wear and i got the best dress ever. in the evening my mom drove me to scott's and i found stina in the basement and she squealed when i popped my head out from around the corner. we got changed and hobbled through the parking lot in our heels while shahin and scott drank rum behind a truck, and we bumped into brian and the sac kids wearing orange safety vests. brian said "PENIS" into his walky-talky and then laughed and told us the principal was carrying one, too.
inside i saw agnes, arm, lijing, so many people. in the caf i sat with alex and alex and andrew duong and we laughed at the funny-looking people on stage. drunk sillies were shouting in the audience and it was just like it should have been, complete with brad mooning everyone.
i talked to dan and ms a-b and mo patel and john, and then i went to see the sac office, which seemed bigger, actually, and we made a mess and scott and stina had another hammer battle in which stina got her revenge, and then we hobbled back to scott's house to get our stuff.
chetan drove me, lawrence, stina and inshan to nathan's house with jason following behind, but we didn't actually know the directions. we drove around the circle, playing classical music, laughing so hard our eyes were watering. it was honestly lovely.
at nathan's we were in the basement, drinking crown royal, taking millions of pictures. stina and i melted into the couch and giggled. i got to talk to mo patel and irmeen for a bit, and later we went outside to smoke and i gave chetan his gangster mobile. i was having so much fun until brian started passing out in a chair. i got up from lying face-first on the carpet when i heard people behind me on the couch, and i got up to sit on another couch in the corner, and i pretended to sleep while i wondered how i was going to get home. andrew chen ended up taking me home in a carful of boys including silly rehan and mo zubair.
on saturday my mom took me to apricot tree cafe but nobody was there, so i found irmeen and brian in starbucks and later we were joined by dan and mr. panwar. dan and i swapped coffees and mr. panwar told us about his new party planner girlfriend. he drove us to milestones, and we all sang along to a certain romance by arctic monkeys. it was super cute fun. tracky bottoms tucked in socks
everyone else arrived before we got our table, and irmeen and i waited impatiently for our food. we both had to go - irmeen had work and i was supposed to be meeting sym at tim horton's - but by the time our food came we had ten minutes to eat. irmeen was exactly on time for work, thanks to mr. panwar's insane driving, and we got from milestones to square one in literally four minutes. but by the time i got to tim horton's sym had already gone home and i called her from a gas station payphone to say sorry. i was walking down erindale station towards my bus stop when i saw brad's truck drive past and mo zubair and rehan playing in scott's driveway, so i went over to say hello. they shot each other and my shin with a pellet gun until scott had to take mo and rehan home. brad and i sat in the backyard for a bit before scott's sister came to ask if brad would drive her to square one, so we went, and we drove back with the radio on, filling in the silent spanses.
when scott came back we got in the truck and drove up to meadowvale four rinks to meet chetan. he led us through a hole in a fence onto train tracks, and we walked along the planks littered with skeletons and fur. we looked behind us and saw lights slowly approaching, so we sat on wooden planks piled next to the tracks and watched the train rattle past. the steady slide of the cars, widening as they got closer, it made my head swim.
we walked further down the tracks and turned left at the one-eyed willy lights, along the edge of a deep canal. the walls there are covered in the most detailed and awesome graffiti ever. chetan rolled a joint in my blueberry paper and we shared it while we talked about the girl with no neck. chetan dropped his pants to show us his shorts & longjohns combination, and scott had an accident.
brad had to take his truck home so chetan drove us to the tim horton's drivethrough and we got coffees and a muffin and a chicken child chanwidge. scott threw tomatoes out the door while chetan went in to the lcbo to get 40s and banana liqueur, and then we picked up brad and he and scott drank in a park until we drove down to shahin's house to get him. we stopped at my house on our way to sherway, so i could go up and get my coat, and when i came back down i walked into their cloud of marijuana smoke in the parking lot. i poured smirnoff into a jones soda while we drove, and at william's pub we wished alex a happy birthday and brad threw up in the sink in the bathroom. afterwards we went to boston pizza for dinner and brian and i bought fancy drinks and i made mine better. after we ate we went outside with pockets full of mints and made a mess before chetan and brad had to go home, and brian drove me and shahin and scott to the rabba on the corner of hurontario and north service. they bought colts and we went to the park for a while before brian drove me home.
saturday was honestly too good. i haven't laughed that hard in ages.
sunday morning i got up and went shopping with my mom. i got a coat and scarf and cute hat and sweaters and tshirts, and we went grocery shopping and i stocked up on stamps and phone cards. in the evening we picked up lud and drove downtown to get on the bus. it filled up fast so we left half an hour early and got to kingston in two and half hours. amazing.
as soon as i got upstairs michelle came to see me, and we talked about her good friend james, and she told me how much she misses him and her eyes were watery. and she said "even though i wish i could see him, it's still good just to know he's out there in the world somewhere. you know?" i know. for sure. i told her to think about how good it will feel next time she sees him. she was saying she wishes she could find someone else she could be that comfortable with, and i told her, "think of it this way. you had to wait until you were seventeen or eighteen before you had a friend that good. maybe it'll be another seventeen years, maybe seventeen months, maybe seventeen days, but you're bound to meet someone like that again. we've just got high expectations now." and she nodded a lot and ate the chocolate bar i gave her. i hugged her goodnight before i finished unpacking.
this morning i had breakfast with caleigh and aj and took a one-hour nap between philosophy and german. now i am writing this instead of my philosophy essay.
